Bylaws

As part of the transition to 501(c)(3), Swing Buffalo has drafted and approved a set of Bylaws compliant with NY State law. 

Code of Conduct

Swing Buffalo is dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, and fun environment for all, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, age, appearance, disability, or religion. We will not tolerate harassment of any kind; including but not limited to offensive verbal comments, unwelcome advances, inappropriate physical contact, and disruptive behavior. We reserve the right to take action including verbal warning, denial of admission, asking an attendee to leave an event without refund, banning from future events, and/or contacting authorities if necessary. We reserve the right to share information concerning specific incidents with other dance organizations. We reserve the right to ask attendees for identification. This Code of Conduct applies to organizers, instructors, students, and any and all other attendees of Swing Buffalo events. By attending a Swing Buffalo event, you agree to be subject to our Code of Conduct.

Reporting a Concern

If you are being harassed or observe harassment, please notify us immediately. We will deal with the situation promptly and with discretion. Swing Buffalo organizers will be clearly identified; you may approach us at any time. You may also contact us by emailing us at swingbuffalo@gmail.com.

Alcohol Policy

Most of our events are alcohol free, however, occasionally alcohol may be served. Please drink responsibly. We are happy to refer you to a taxi/rideshare if necessary. Underage drinking or supplying alcohol to a minor will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to deny admission or ask to leave anyone who is disruptively intoxicated.

Privacy Policy

Swing Buffalo may collect phone numbers, email addresses, or mailing addresses from students, event registrants, and members of our electronic community. This information will be kept private and confidential and will not be used except to distribute information regarding our classes and events. We will not distribute any personal information to other groups or organizations. Photographs and/or videos may be taken by Swing Buffalo at our events for promotional or educational uses only; you agree to the use of your likeness for these purposes.

Video Policy

Videos may be taken by students for their own personal use only. Please, no posting of videos on social media or other public forums. No video taping of private lessons unless it is *your* private lesson.

Safety Policy

Swing Buffalo prohibits flips and other aerial maneuvers which may take a dancer’s feet above their hips. Attendees to Swing Buffalo classes and events assume all risk and responsibility for injuries they may cause or suffer.

Check Policy

We will accept payment by check for classes and workshops from a U.S. bank. All checks must include a current address and phone number. If paying by check please note that all checks need to be received within 10 days of registration. Your registration will not be considered complete until payment is received.

Checks returned to us by our bank for any reason will incur a $20 returned check fee and a $10 processing fee. The total bounced check fee is $35, payable by cash, money order or certified bank check. Registration will not be completed until the fee is paid. Payment MUST be received within 10 business days of being notified of a returned check or registration will be voided.
